Part Time Accounting Associate (Accounts Receivable)

About the Job

Green Mountain is seeking a positive, professional, motivated team player who has a high attention to detail to fill our Part Time Accounting Associate (Accounts Receivable) position.

As the Accounting Associate, you will be responsible for all accounts receivable work including billing, daily cash receipts, job cost revenue postings and monitoring past due accounts. In addition, you will work in conjunction with the Controller to assure a timely month-end close. Successful candidates will have strong communication skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels within the Company. This is a part-time position and that will work in our office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00AM to 5PM.

Job Responsibilities


  • Review all aspects of work which includes job cost revenue postings to all ledgers ensuring compliance with company, state, and federal policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Responsible for the entire billing process including maintaining accurate customer records as well as AIA billing and any other associated job billings. 
  • Responsible for updating the Accounting Procedures Manual (APM) whenever necessary.
  • Monitors A/R for past due accounts and follows up with each customer documents notes on a weekly basis.
  • Provides Controller weekly forecast of expected cash receipts.
  • Assist the Controller with the month-end close which includes timely reconciliation and review of multiple asset and liability accounts. This also includes analytical review of income and expense accounts and review of all transactional data as posted by the accounting department.
  • Recommends and participates in the maintenance of corporate accrual accounting policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with the Controller to ensure transactions are handled in a consistent manner.
  • Ensures records are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Job Requirements


  • 5-8 years relevant experience.
  • This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Previous experience in the construction industry and knowledge of job costing highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required.
  • Duties require initiative and ability to deal with complex accounting issues.
  • Must have ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficient in communication (both written and verbal)
